Creating a self-loving lifestyle: Tips for loving yourself more

If you want to create a lifestyle where you feel more love for yourself, there are certain changes you can make to help you get there. Self-love isn’t something that happens overnight; it’s an ongoing practice that requires continuous effort and care in order to become a more loving person. This guide will help you get started on the journey of building self-love into your life and letting go of the things that don’t serve you anymore.                          Get your sleep:                                                                                                                                                                  Most people require at most eight hours of sleep per night. However, some may require more or less. Consider how much sleep you need to feel rested and productive during the day. Make sure you are getting enough sleep by going to bed and waking up at the same time each day, avoiding caffeine before bed, and creating a relaxing bedtime routine. Getting enough sleep is important for our physical health as well as mental health, so make it as a priority.

Challenge Negative Thoughts:
One of the best things you can do for your mental health is to challenge negative thoughts. When you caught yourself thinking something negative about yourself, stop at that moment and ask yourself is it really true. If it isn’t, let the thought go. If it is, try to reframe it in a more positive light. For example, I’m not good enough could become I’m doing my best and that’s good enough.

Schedule time to relax:
Making time to relax should be a priority in your life.
Schedule some me time into your day:                                                                                                                 Whether it’s taking a break to read your favorite book, going for a walk outside, or taking a yoga class, make sure to schedule time each day to do something that you enjoy. These moments will add up and contribute to your happiness!
Plan ahead of time what you want to do:                                                                                                            Sometimes we’re too busy with our everyday lives and forget about the things we like doing until the moment is gone. Make a list of things that you would like to do this week and take steps towards accomplishing them as they come up! If you need to plan out your day on paper or use an app like Google Calendar, then go for it! It’s worth setting aside those few minutes of your day so that you can feel good about the work that you’ve accomplished.       Say no when you need to :                                                                                                                                                   It’s okay to say no. You don’t have to do everything that’s asked of you. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for yourself is take care of yourself. And that means saying no to things that don’t serve you. Saying yes when it feels right and good and no when it doesn’t. If you’re not sure about something, ask yourself does this feel good? Is this serving me in some way? If the answer is yes, go ahead and say yes. If not, it’s better to say no. Don’t overextend yourself just because someone else expects it from you or doesn’t like it if you’re unavailable on certain days.          Improve your health:                                                                                                                                                        Loving yourself enough to live a healthy lifestyle is important for your overall wellbeing. Here are some tips to help you get started: Learn about your food choices and what they do to your body. Use apps like MyFitnessPal or Lose It, which track the foods you eat and the calories they contain so that you can make healthier decisions. Commit to an exercise routine that makes sense for you and keep up with it by scheduling time in your calendar! Also, make sure that you’re getting plenty of sleep, because lack of sleep can cause many health problems.  Practice gratitude:                                                                                                                                                      Gratitude is a practice that can help shift your mindset from negative to positive. When you focus on what you’re grateful for, it’s easier to see the good in your life and to be more content with what you have.
